UNDP joins Ebola fight, donates vehicles to National Task force.

The United Nations Development Program, UNDP has donated four vehicles to the National Task Force on Ebola to fight the deadly virus in Liberia.

 

The donation was made Monday, August 4, 2014 at the Internal Affairs Ministry by UNDP Resident Representative Antonio Vigilante to Internal Affairs Minister and Co-chair of the Task Force, Hon. Morris M. Dukuly, on behalf of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf.

 

UNDP puts the cost of the value of the vehicles at a little over one hundred twenty-two thousand United States Dollars.

 

Making the presentation, Mr. Vigilante said the vehicles were to be used for Peacebuilding office through its Strengthening Local mechanism project, however, diverted due to the current Ebola threat to the nation.

 

“Combating Ebola is now our first priority”.  Mr. Vigilante declared.

 

Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the Task Force, Internal Affairs Minister Morris Dukuly thanked the UNDP for the gesture, saying, it could have been no other time for the vehicles than now, when it is essential to the Task Force.
