Out-going US Ambassador Debora Malarc visits MIA, praises Liberia over implementing pace of decentralization in Liberia

Monrovia-December 4, 2015:Out-going US Ambassador Debora Malarc said the US government is pleased with the level at which the Liberian government is implementing the decentralization program.

She said service delivery is key to local populations, and as such it was important to commend the government for exerting what she calls ‘real efforts’ in the implementation of decentralization.

Under its National Deconcentration platform, government is opening county Service Centers in the counties to enhance effective service delivery.

The out-going US Envoy spoke Friday when she paid a courtesy call on Acting Internal Affairs Varney Sirleaf.

Well, speaking earlier, Acting Internal Affairs Minister Varney Sirleaf praised the United States government for its continuous support to Liberia.

Hon. Sirleaf the US is supporting currently the Ministry through its programs on Decentralization and Local governance, Disaster relief, Peace-building and relationship with traditional people.
