New Local Government Ministry in the making. President Sirleaf discloses

Monrovia, January 25, 2016: The Liberian President, Madame Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has announced plans for the creation of a new Ministry of Local Government in Liberia.
The President has urged the National Legislature pass a bill creating the Bill creating the Ministry of Local Government, which according to the Liberian leader, is in furtherance government’s Decentralization Program.
The president said she was also seeking the endorsement of the Legislature for a Local Government Bill.
The Liberian Leader was speaking Monday, January 25, 2016 at the National Legislature for her Annual State of the Nation’s Address.
When passed into law, the Ministry of Local Government will replace the current Ministry of Internal Affairs. Details are coming up soon.
